If you are a vintage automobile buff, you might consider a visit to the Gasoline Alley Automobile Museum at Heritage Park Historical Village in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Walking into the place takes one back to the turn of the twentieth century and the times when an automobile was as much a work of art as it was a novel form of transportation.
The park is located on 127 acres (0.51 km2) of parkland on the banks of the Glenmore Reservoir. It is Canada’s largest living history museum. The park is branded as a living history museum since it features a village that was recreated to appear as it might have in late 19th and early 20th century in western Canada. Many of the buildings are historical and were transported to the park to be placed on display. Most of the structures are furnished and decorated with genuine artifacts. Staff dress in historic costume and provide historic interpretations for guests about the time period and way of life.
One of the newest exhibits to be added to the park is Gasoline Alley. It is the only part of the park that is open all year long.
LOVE this slideshow Doug! I am a huge car fan, and I could sit here for hours as the pictures roll across the screen!
Thanks Scott. It was a fun place to visit, especially as it was a slow day and I had the whole place to myself.
